Writing & Production (Video)

  • 2009 - “Where is Tomorrow's Farmer?” Wrote and produced a ten-minute documentary focusing on bringing young people into small, sustainable farming. Produced with a grant from The Raynier Foundation. Received public screenings on San Juan Island, WA, at the Earth Day Fest on April 17, 2010, and throughout the day on April 23 and April 24, 2010, at events held by Land & Sea Friday Harbor (video available at greendept.com/tf/ and youtube.com/ourlittleisland)

  • 2009 - Short video documenting the 350.org International Day of Climate Action on Orcas Island, WA (available at youtube.com/ourlittleisland)

  • 2007 - Documented “Penguins on Thin Ice” stage performance by students from New York’s public High School for Environmental Studies at the United Nations, for the U.N. Commission on Sustainable Development. Camera, sound, editing. Produced with a grant from The Celebration Foundation.

  • 2003 - Wrote and produced “Let’s Keep the Water Clean” animation. When the King Stinko factory dumps pollution in the river, it gets into the fish that we eat. This animation shows how pollution travels up the food chain. (Video at greendept.com/PSA/PSA.htm)

  • 1997 - 2000 Producer at Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT). Wrote and produced “Puppetically Incorrect” puppet show. Also did camera, switching and sound for other producers' projects.

Stage Production

  • 2005 - Created climate change musical revue Penguins on Thin Ice with Sharon Abreu (penguinsonthinice.com)

  • 2002 - With Sharon Abreu, created The Great Climate Caper, a musical about global climate change. Produced a special performance on Orcas Island in Washington State to address the unique ecology of the San Juan Islands.

  • 1999 - With Sharon Abreu, created Turn the World Upside Down, an interactive musical show based on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater Classroom of the Waves, teaching young people about recycling and keeping the water clean. The duo performed the show at the New York Aquarium with Emmy winner Bill Nye The Science Guy, on Manhattan and Brooklyn cable television and in the New York City public schools through the Brooklyn Arts Council.

    • 2005 - Penguins on Thin Ice (penguinsonthinice.com ). Includes creating Titanic Island animation – Reggie the reggae penguin grooving and strumming to “Titanic Island” song, as the ocean engulfs his island home, due to global warming. Also created the initial animation showing two penguins on a melting ice block.
